My Magic Mike Mate
Throughout the course of last year I became friends with quite an interesting fella. This guy has the certification to jump out of planes solo and plays the piano and guitar damn well. But most of all he is a stripper, and a fucking good one. For my birthday he entered the party dressed like a police officer and gave me a whole strip tease. I’m quite straight but after that dance I was in a limbo of sexual confusion. Funnily enough, while getting to know each other we kept asking our mutual friends if the other guy was bi-sexual, and it felt like a hookup was on the come up. But that’s another story for another time.
This individual made me curious how a stripper's life goes and what it takes to be one. I unfortunately figured out that my dad bod would not cut it, but nevertheless I thought to ask him a few questions.
What got you into stripping?
Pure coincidence. I got a call from a friend from uni who said a friend of his needed a guy with a good looking body to serve a table of 8 women shirtless (for a royal price). Turned out to be a room with more than 200 women. The organiser invited me for a chat. He had been a stripper for 17 years and had a show at that moment. First time seeing a show, live. The friends of the bachelorette saw me in the back and asked if I also was going to give a little dance. So I did, took off my shirt and did a backflip. The stripper, now a good friend, asked me if I wanted to work for him.
What is the daily life of a stripper, like how do you keep in shape what you eat?
I’m not sure if I have the regular life of a stripper haha. Recently joined an organization to design and facilitate innovation processes for university students all over the world. I’m very active; I work out 5-7 times a week; 3x gym; 1x fight sports; and either dance class, hit training, or yoga. I eat super healthy and super shitty at the same time. Furthermore, I play piano and jump out of airplanes.
Is there a Magic Mike effect? Does it seem better than it really is?
In all honesty, Magic Mike is next level, but also a movie. From the choreography to the camera’s composition techniques. I definitely wasn’t on that level when I started. Although, being very passionate about what I’m doing, I have created multiple pieces of choreography on different music tracks, designed to evoke the greatest feeling of desire and emotion. So, Magic Mike, I’d be honoured to join the third sequel.
Do you ever get weird clients and how did you deal with it?
Hahaha of course. During these bachelorette parties these women show their true colours. You’d be surprised how dissolute they can be. Imagine Harry Styles, locked up in a room with a bunch of horny teenagers. Won’t last a minute. I fortunately know how to handle them. From girls wanting to pay extra just to see my dick, to almost every show having one or multiple wanting to sleep with me right away. One of the approaches (unless she’s rude): You stare her in the eyes, come closer, jump on her lap, look her in the eyes again and ask: tell me what did you want? They will fall still and have no idea how to act anymore. Still waiting for the woman that can match me at that moment, because I will take her home. Just to make it clear, I have never done anything with any of the women present during my shows, or even taken off my underwear.
What’s the craziest story you have as a stripper?
I have many crazy stories. From meeting celebrities, and even dancing very sensually with one, not knowing it was ‘her’. (I still have to send her a message again now that she is single). To be in a room with 40 half and fully naked people, or being in a limousine with a blond Russian supermodel, asking me to stay and spend the night with her. This was the one that matched me 100%, if she only wasn’t the one getting married… Also, I didn’t want any Russian billionaire hunting me down :)
Most disgusting story as a stripper?
Honestly, I don’t have any.
What kind of personality do you need to have to be a good stripper?
You definitely have to be extraverted and confident. Confidence is something you gain more, the more often you do it. You have to be able to captivate the whole audience, and you have to keep in mind that you are the forbidden fruit in a way. So, you need to have this personality of emitting true desire, rawness, but also elegance, and flair. You can’t just stop in between. It’s a whole emotional journey for these women. It’s something fragile and intense. But you also got to be able to make a couple of jokes and make it fun.
Are male strippers popular in Amsterdam? Why should more males get into it?
Don’t get into it. I’m making insanely good money now. hahaha. Just kidding, if you really think you know what it takes, hit me up.
Any weird requests you have received as a stripper?
Well, what is weird haha. Isn’t me dancing half naked on top of a woman getting married not weird enough? No, I’ve had many requests like may I lick your body? Do you do sex? Do you want to have sex with me and my friend? Furthermore, not anything out of the ordinary.
Do you find that it makes it difficult for you to be in a normal relationship with a girl because you are a stripper?
“One good girl is worth a thousand b**”. If I find the right woman and my Saturday side job would make her feel uncomfortable at any point I wouldn’t mind putting a stop to it. But then only if it would outway the amazing experiences and benefits I have at this moment. Besides that, no woman has every complaint about the way I move and can make her feel outside of my shows…
What are the biggest cons to being a stripper?
None, just don’t let the ego get to your head.
